+World_Drives association has its roots in conferences, projects and cooperations with Eastern European partners promoted by INTAS, World Society Foundation, SCOPES and SDC (Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation).
+**Evaluation and support of regional and social projects of SDC**

The activities purpose to promote bottom-up developments in remote regions of the countries.  Das Bickelmuseum ist ein Beispiel, wie aus einer Brache des Industriezeitalters in Walenstadt ein Museum wurde. Es gibt viele Beispiele dafür in der Region.
-Die Ausstellung Homo mechanicus bringt die Zeugen und Relikte der Brachen der Region Walensee-Sarganserland auf originelle Weise zum Ausdruck. Sie sammelt die Relikte von Brachen der Region. Ausgewählte Installation zeigen Geschichte - bewegen sich, spielen mit Geräuschen und Farben – erinnern an den Schweiss und Fleiss des industriellen Alltags. Sie wirken als Figuren und winken dem neuen Zeitalter der Digitalisierung zu.

 Aus dem schweren Werkzeug, den Schraubenschlüsseln, entfaltet sich die Spirale zur Rose aus Metall.  Am Anfang wirkte das Eisen gewonnen aus dem Berg als Werkzeug und benötigte Kraft der Hände und des Körpers, harte Arbeit. Die Figuren zeigen die Entwicklung, wie der homo mechanicus stets feinere Techniken erfand - und die physische Kraft zur Ausdruckskraft wurde.
